Both for them
and philanthropists who want to donate scholarships
Yeah, well, of
course, it means that we dont get the credit for it. But I think one of the
things that happened is finally even the others--even President Obama is saying
the status quo is terrible. Most of our big-city school systems have become jobs
programs, nothing to do with education,But on the other hand if you do have a
fair bit more lawn mower to mow or if you
need to do it every weekend you're going to need to get a better machine. and
people are finally realizing that. Films like "Waiting for Superman," we realize
that--we realize its not working. And I think were also realizing money alone is
not the answer. So is therehave we reached, are you saying, a political tipping
point, where theres been the recognition, by a broad scale of the public and in
both political parties, that something more radical has to change than we've
been doing
I think so. I mean,Thus Slimming
product seems to be a good source of antioxidants. They help in bolster our
body immune system. I would like to see more from President Obama and so forth,
but he is helping in the sense that hes saying the status quo is failing a lot
of children out there. Paul, I looked it up. The first Wall Street Journal
editorial on school choice appeared in March of 1990. A long time ago. Gov.
Tommy Thompson, Wisconsin, voucher program in Milwaukee, which Gov. Scott Walker
has just improved and expanded. I think one other thing is going on here, Bill,
and that is, this is the part of the fight thats occurred in all of the states
over the cost of public unions, and part of the public union program problem is
the teachers. People are more aware of the costs of these unions and costs of
their teachers and their pension. The unions are on their back foot right now,
and I think it has created an opening for reformers to push this through. This
is one of the most remarkable phenomenons I have seen in politics in a long
time, all of these school voucher and choice reforms going through in a single
year.
Right, the teachers union endorsed Obama. Which was not a
surprise. They've never endorsed a Republican president. They give times as much
money to DemocratsSo that wasnt a surprise. But some of the conversations going
on at that conventionupset with President Obama and the administration for
pushing things like charter schools and choice. And his Race to the Top Program
which said, les have state competition to see which can be the most aggressive
reformer.The availability of Diesel
Generator is also no more big issue, the applicability of diesel resource is
spread through widely in almost every gas stations. You get extra cash. And
charter schools have been part of that component.
Yes, they have been
part of that component and the unions have not been happy about that, partly
because many charter schools are not organized. And again, as the jobs--public
education is supposed to be a jobs program in the view of public-sector unions.
But theres a Democratic Party issue going on here. I mean, people talk
about governors like Scott Walker pushing back against the teachers unions, or
Chris Christie in New Jersey. But many of the opponents of the teachers unions
are fellow Democratsreformers like Joel Klein, the former chancellor of New York
City schools
